Bethany Bailey joined the Swan Energy business at the end of 2022, and she is working as part of a growing team of Carbon Analysts to deliver specialist consultancy work, supporting our clients UK-wide. She reports to Operations Manager Joe Youldon.
Bethany joined us, having recently graduated from the University of Leeds, with a MSc in Climate Change and Environmental Policy. One of the pull factors to Swan Energy was that she was keen to make a difference and help businesses and society achieve their climate targets. Here at Swan she is working with clients to ensure they are compliant with greenhouse gas and climate legislation.
Since she joined, Bethany has been busy shadowing other members of the team and being inducted into the business. This is a busy period of the year for Swan Energy, with lots of client verification visits taking place, and final data being submitted for the UK ETS 2022 reporting year.
Since Christmas, she has been to four hospital sites for their final verification, and has been producing and finalising the annual emissions reports for 20 of our peaking plant sites. She has also been helping her colleagues to process site data and internally auditing and checking final calculations before submission to the UK ETS Regulator. Aside from this, she also been researching a potential new service that Swan Energy may offer in the future which she presented at our last team meeting day.
Andrew Park, Managing Director at Swan Energy said:
Bethany is a great new addition to our team and has settled in very easily. It feels like she has been here for more than two months and she is already doing some meaningful work. She has been fully inducted into the business and is now out and about with the Swan Energy team, at one of our busiest times of the year. I’m confident that she is an asset to the team and that she will build great working relationships with clients and colleagues.
