An environment permit is when a local authority or the Environment Agency gives an organisation permission to carry out an activity. The permit will set limits to pollution, and outline what needs toe done to control and prevent pollution. Permits can cover air and water pollution, contamination, and other environmental hazards.
The Environment Agency issues permits for heavy industry, and a local authority issues permits for A (2) and B processes.
In simplest terms, your organisation’s carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions generated by its presence and activities; how many tonnes of carbon it emits.
